Spiritual Meaning of two wives story as per the the spiritual experiences
It is the play of THE NATURE, the female energy side, that makes both Venakateswara and Maha Lakshmi to play roles in that. Lord in order to serve THE EARTH as a saviour, in order to always protect the earth. For lord Vishnu earth itself is his wife or his consort. So to make him save the earth, which is her own self, she splits herself into two making to leave her and focus more on the work has has to do. So she parts with him. As part of that process, after his penance, he lands up with Padmavati whom he marries by taking loan. That loan itself becomes the reason for his existence on the earth. In other words, the same Lakshmi brings him down to make him work for her own-self which is nothing but the earth.
As part of her play, she resides in Kolhapur in order to do her part of service to the earth. The earth is nothing but people. So Kolhapur Maha Lakshmi pushes lord to do the service for the earth while Padmavathi whom he got married as Shreenivasa, works on the money aspect of his side, to collect money from the people. At the same time, Shreenivasa, in this process, cuts the karmas of people and cleaning their souls and making them more fall in harmony with dharma. It is THE PLAY OF NATURE, that splits Maha Lakshmi into two for the play of this. The play goes on till the end of Kaliyuga and thats when his loan gets cleared. Loan is the logical bond that make him stay on the earth all this Kaliyuga. This is the pre-kalki work of lord Venkateswara, to cut the karmas of people and advance them spiritually to align with dharma.
Because they cannot go back to Vaikuntha, Tirumala itself became their Vaikuntha. The two wives concept to present to the people in a more emotional way for the sake of devotion, this two wives representation came into the world, but they are technically two energies manifested from the same source of Lakshmi two do dual works as explained above.
Journey to the source again
As per the experiences of the spiritualists and self realization seekers at Dharmayan that the journey back to the source of Vaikuntha starts with the temple of “Vara Lakshmi Venakteswara”. So Venkatewswara’s journey back to to Vakuntha starts this way and on the other hand, his next incarnation’s work as lord “Kalki Venkateswara” would start on the earth with this temple.
